Bungalow meets dojo. This home has a squat, settled feel to it. The client wanted a home with a somewhat lower profile and lazier roof lines to suggest a 1960’s era California bungalow, but with a twist… The twist being just a hint of the Orient, evoked by the signature Cedar knee bracing and pagoda style entrance. This look is further accentuated with deeper than normal eaves and a substantial deck overlooking the lake and mountains beyond. Inside, it’s all about the views with an abundance of generously proportioned windows maximizing the stunning vistas. Fixtures and finishes are clean and simple as is the home’s technological heart, which was a requirement of the client. Outside we find attractive yet low maintenance landscaping with grass and trees providing cool sanctuary in the warm summers.
